I have completed a 4-year training in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon. I am now studying for a Masters degree in this subject from Middlesex University and working towards registration with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP).
As a former journalist, I have lived and worked in many other countries. This has given me an appreciation of diversity and an interest in the wider, global context of our lives.
I am also interested in mindfulness and meditation and how these are being applied to the treatment of depression, anxiety, stress and chronic pain. Oxford is a growing centre for Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Relief (MBSR). My aim is to provide individual psychotherapy which encourages clients to develop their own mindfulness as a means towards better mental health and wellbeing.
I welcome the exploration of spirituality, metaphor, imagery, visualisation and dreams in therapy.
In my free time, I love singing, walking, nature and the creative arts.
